Erweiterte Forschungsbegleitung für den Einsatz von energieeffizienten Linienbussen im Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr

Within the EFBEL project, city buses with hybrid and alternative power trains are subject to examination. Based on the experience gathered in a preceding project, the following topics will be covered in depth:

  • Dedicated measurement of fuel consumption, exhaust and noise emissions
  • Energy balance of main auxiliary systems
  • Identification of main impact factors on fuel consumption using simulation and analysis of load profiles
  • Analysis of the impact of operating concepts and driver behavior
  • Analysis of route profiles and topography features with respect to their impact on operating modes
  • Examination of the development of fuel consumption considering service life
  • Description of weather related phenomena and their influence on fuel consumption and availability (winter vs. summer)
