This year, students will have the opportunity to visit the companies Porsche, BMW, Tesla, Claas and Rheinmetall as part of the Whitsun excursion.

Mandatory registration is required for participation. The maximum number of people is limited to 30. The personal contribution will be 100 €. After registration, the departure dates will be sent separately by email to those who have registered.

Excursion to the IAA Transportation 202222.09.2022

This year, students will have the opportunity to visit the IAA Transportation in Hanover as part of an excursion.

The IAA is the leading international trade show for climate-neutral mobility, transport and logistics. Under the motto "People and Goods on the move" and with a new concept, the trade show for the first time networks the relevant players from the commercial vehicles, buses and logistics sectors with leading tech providers and suppliers among themselves.

In the various exhibition zones, students can gain insight into the carbon-neutral and technological transformation of all transportation.
The ika will also be represented at the fair with a stand or vehicle as part of the UNICARagil project.

The excursion takes place in cooperation with bonding e.V. and is supported by the "Freundeskreis des Lehrstuhls für Kraftfahrwesen e.V.".

This year, the ika student excursion leads to Essen and Wipperfürth.

Whitsun excursion 2019

The 2019 student excursion took us to Belgium and the Netherlands. On the first day, we gained an exciting insight into the areas of production and testing at the transmission manufacturer Punch Powertrain in Sint-Truiden. We were able to visit the production line of parts of the CVT transmission and get to know the new test bench areas during a guided tour. The body production VDL Nedcar in Born presented us, among other things, the entire car assembly process from the iron roll to the finished vehicle for the BMW X1.

After a night in Eindhoven, we went on a very interesting tour of the truck OEM DAF Trucks on the second day, which gave us great insights into the production and final assembly of larger vehicles. This allowed us to experience how finished commercial vehicles of different performance and weight classes roll off the assembly line.

We would like to thank all students as well as Punch Powertrain, VDL Nedcar and DAF Trucks for two great days and are already looking forward to the next student excursion.
