Modular e-powertrain design
Topic and Goal of the Thesis
Besides range, cost-effectiveness plays a crucial role in powertrain development. Although different platforms (e.g. Modular Electric Drive Modular System / MEB by VW) already exist on the market, most optimisation algorithms described in the literature consider however only one vehicle. Therefore, possible synergies with other vehicles are typically not investigated. The thesis aims to address this research gap by identifying possible modularity approaches and then implementing those in MATLAB as part of an already existing software. Lastly, its functionality must be shown through evaluation on an example of a derived platform.
