Automotive System Evaluation

The course provides a basic knowledge of methods in the field of user studies in the course of automotive system development and evaluation. The aspects of controllability and safety in the introduction of new systems and components are prominently discussed.

The course enables you to choose the appropriate method for individual questions. This enables them to conduct studies that are well thought out in terms of budget and resource utilization as well as knowledge-oriented work. Through the underlying approach of early user integration, unnecessary product developments can be avoided and thus sustainable products can be developed in terms of their usability.

The associated exercise serves to acquire the ability to present study results freely and to discuss them critically in the plenum.

Learning Outcomes

  • Formation of research questions and testable hypotheses
  • Knowledge and theoretical application of testing methods (spectrum laboratory to real driving)
  • Knowledge of human perception and its importance for the development of automotive systems (from steer by wire to ADAS to HMI and infotainment)
