KoMoDnext - Automated and Connected Driving in the Digital Test Field Düsseldorf

Our Meetup series for interested parties presents and discusses current, practice-relevant research topics in the field of future mobility.

The joint project KoMoDnext - Automated Driving in the Digital Test Field Düsseldorf, funded by the BMDV, ended after 27 months in March 2022. The project used and expanded the test field established in the previous KoMoD project. The goal of KoMoDnext was to provide infrastructure support for automated driving in selected network sections. On the 20 km long test route, various use cases were implemented and tested both on the highway and in safety-critical sections in the transition to the urban area (Rheinalleetunnel and Rheinkniebrücke) and at inner-city intersections controlled by traffic signals.
The presentations will provide an overview of the implemented applications as well as the results of a model-based system-wide assessment.

The Meetup is structured as follows:

  • Introduction & Presentation Testfield (Project Office Torben Hilgers)
  • Motivation, organization and outlook (City of Düsseldorf Heiko Böhme)
  • Driving function in urban areas (ika / fka)
  • System impact and introduction strategies (TU Berlin - Prof. Ortgiese)
  • Joint question and answer session
