Profile Area Mobility and Transport Engineering (MTE)
The Profile Area Mobility and Transport Engineering (MTE) at RWTH Aachen University brings together the expertise of 26 institutes from seven faculties and consolidates interdisciplinary research on the mobility of tomorrow. Its goal is to develop intelligent, sustainable, and human-centered solutions for passenger and freight transport while combining scientific innovation with social responsibility.
The Profile Area MTE regards mobility as a key enabler of social participation and economic development. The participating researchers therefore explore new concepts, technologies, and systems that make mobility more efficient, safer, and more accessible while conserving environmental and natural resources.
As a central platform for mobility research at RWTH Aachen University, the Profile Area MTE connects disciplines, partners, and perspectives, thereby creating the foundation for innovations that address real-world challenges and actively shape the transformation of mobility.
