Automated pre-dimensioning of shaftbearing-systems for electrified vehicle transmissionsopic
Topic and Goal of the Thesis
The electrification of heavy commercial vehicles is a core aspect to CO2-reduction. Switching to electrified powertrains means however additional challenges in the vehicle development process. One way for mastering the complexity of a powertrain development is to incorporate various designing tools directly into the process.
For the further development of existing tools, an approach for automated shaft design for spur gearboxes shall be worked out. The method should be implemented as an extensible interface between synthesis of transmission topology and gear simulation with a focus on electrified propulsion systems. In conclusion, an exemplary comparison of the automatically created design and a gearbox for an electrified vehicle is rounding off the method proposed in the thesis.
