General Information
Vehicles have become one of the most complex technical products of all. This is due to diverging legal and consumer protection regulations worldwide and a wide range of customer requirements in globalized markets.
Due to technological progress, the limiting factor in the development of many functions in today's vehicles is no longer just what is technically feasible, but increasingly the understanding and acceptance by the user. Only a consequent involvement of the user throughout the entire development process can ensure later acceptance and thus successful market introduction.
In the area of user experience, the ika examines existing or even planned functions, components and systems throughout the entire development period. Thanks to the necessary expertise, these areas can be evaluated in terms of user experience, acceptance, effectiveness in terms of driving, traffic safety and efficiency, and controllability.
The aim is to develop relevant design criteria at the earliest possible stage in the development process and to identify optimization potential from the user's perspective.
In close cooperation with the other departments of the Institute of Automotive Engineering, the planning and implementation as well as the statistical evaluation and systematic documentation of subject tests can be undertaken. For the technical realization, test tracks for the representation of valid scenarios for real driving tests as well as a dynamic driving simulator for the reproducible and safe simulation of driving and traffic situations are available.
